Built in Multiple Stages
Dual-density and multi-density silicone require a more complex manufacturing process than conventional single-density pouring.
Different silicone structures are formed in stages, with controlled pouring, positioning, heat-curing and additional molding steps required to integrate them into one finished body.
Each stage has to work with the next. Material balance, curing conditions, timing and internal placement all affect the final result.
The result is not a coating and not separate finished pieces glued together.
It is one integrated silicone structure, engineered from the inside out.
Where Kikuchi DualDensity™ Started: Panther
Panther was Kikuchi’s first dual-density series. The firmness of Panther Core became Kikuchi's DualDensity™ standard firmness which was developed to recreate a more natural erect feel: a soft, flesh-like exterior surrounding a supportive inner structure.
The outside can compress and move naturally while the core helps the shape remain supported.
Beyond Two Densities
Some designs need more than an outer layer and a single core.
Multi-density construction allows different sections of the same toy to use different levels of softness and support.
ODYSSEY™, for example, moves from a soft upper section to lower and denser structures, allowing different parts of the toy to behave differently.
