Inside DualDensity™

Very soft silicone can feel flexible and forgiving, but larger or longer shapes can become difficult to guide if the whole toy behaves the same way.

Firmer silicone keeps its shape more consistently, but it also creates a firmer surface feel.

DualDensity™ separates those two jobs.

Soft Outside. Support Inside.

In a DualDensity™ toy, the outer silicone can stay softer while a more supportive structure sits inside.

That means the surface and the structure do not have to do the same job. The outside can compress and move more naturally, while the inside helps the shape stay supported under pressure.

The point is not to make every toy softer. It is to put softness and support where the design needs them.

How It Is Made

Dual-density construction is built in stages rather than poured as one uniform body.

The inner structure is formed and positioned first. The outer silicone is then molded and cured around it so the finished toy behaves as one integrated piece.

Multi-density designs add more than two material zones, allowing different sections of the same toy to behave differently.

Where Kikuchi DualDensity™ Started

Panther was Kikuchi’s first dual-density series.

The original goal was straightforward: keep the soft, flesh-like feel we wanted on the outside without letting larger shapes collapse or lose too much directional control.

That balance became the basis of Kikuchi’s standard DualDensity™ approach.

Why Not Use DualDensity™ Everywhere?

Because not every shape needs it.

A short, simple design may work perfectly well in one density. A toy that is supposed to compress heavily may be better as a very soft single-density piece. A long or structurally demanding shape may need internal support.

Structure follows the job of the toy, not the other way around.

Beyond Two Densities

Some designs need different behavior in more than two areas.

ODYSSEY™, for example, uses a multi-density construction so different sections can have different levels of softness and support rather than forcing one firmness to handle the entire shape.

Single, Dual and Multi-Density

· Single-density: one consistent silicone structure throughout the toy.

· DualDensity™: a softer outer layer combined with a more supportive internal structure.

· Multi-density: multiple zones with different levels of softness and support.

They are not quality levels. They are different ways of making a shape behave the way it needs to behave.
