Kikuchi Firmness Guide
Kikuchi manufactures its silicone products in-house, giving us control over the firmness and internal structure of each design.
But firmness is not treated as a set of interchangeable options.
Every shape has its own size, thickness, length and structure. During development, we choose the firmness that we believe works best for that design.
The firmness shown on each product page is the standard configuration we recommend for that shape. Other configurations may still be available through customization.
Single-Density Silicone
Single-density products use one consistent silicone structure throughout the toy.
Kikuchi uses three simple firmness labels:
· Soft — more flexible and easier to compress
· Balanced — a middle ground between softness and support
· Firm — more structured, with less flex
These labels describe the relative feel of the finished design.
Two products with the same firmness label may still feel different because their shape, size and thickness are different.
Kikuchi DualDensity™ Silicone
DualDensity™ combines a soft outer body with a supportive inner structure.
The three DualDensity™ labels describe the overall balance between those two parts:
· DualDensity™ Soft — more soft silicone around a lighter internal structure
· DualDensity™ Balanced — our standard balance between outer softness and internal support
· DualDensity™ Firm — more internal structure and a more supported overall feel
Most Panther models use DualDensity™ Balanced.
This is the standard configuration developed for the Panther series, rather than simply a middle setting chosen from three interchangeable options.
Multi-Density Designs
Some Kikuchi products use several levels of softness and support within one design.
For these products, Softer / Standard / Firmer describe the overall configuration rather than one single firmness throughout the toy.
· Softer — more flexibility and compression overall
· Standard — the original configuration developed for the design
· Firmer — more support and structure overall
Standard is the configuration we recommend first because it is the version the product was developed around.
Standard Firmness and Customization
The firmness shown on a Kikuchi product page is the configuration we believe works best for that shape.
It is not necessarily the only configuration we can make.
Because Kikuchi manufactures its silicone products in-house, selected products can also be made in a different firmness on request.
Customization does not change which configuration we consider standard. It simply gives experienced customers more flexibility when they already know they prefer a different feel.
