Firmness & Colors Customization
Kikuchi manufactures its silicone products in-house.
That means firmness is not a fixed specification chosen by an outside supplier. We control the silicone formulation, structure, and production of each design ourselves, allowing us to tune how a finished toy bends, supports, compresses, and responds.
But having the ability to make different firmness levels does not mean every firmness belongs on every product.
Every Design Behaves Differently
Firmness is only one part of how a toy feels.
Length, diameter, shape, wall thickness, internal support, and DualDensity™ construction can all change the way the same silicone formulation behaves in the finished product.
Because of this, a Soft build in one Kikuchi design may not feel exactly the same as Soft in another.
We use firmness labels to describe the relative character of each available build, rather than to suggest that every Soft, Medium, or Firm product feels identical.
Why Do Firmness Options Vary?
Each Kikuchi product has its own approved firmness range.
Some designs are intentionally offered in Soft only. Others may be available in Soft and Medium, or in DualDensity™ Soft, Balanced, and Firm.
These differences are intentional.
We only offer firmness options that we consider appropriate for the product’s geometry, size, structure, flexibility, control, and intended performance.
A firmer build is not automatically better, and a softer build is not automatically easier. The right firmness depends on what the design is meant to do.
What Does “Standard” Mean?
When a product is available in multiple firmness options, one version may be marked Standard.
Standard is the firmness we consider the original or default expression of that design.
If you are purchasing that model for the first time and do not already have a specific firmness preference, we generally recommend starting with the Standard version.
Once you understand how that particular shape behaves, choosing a softer or firmer option becomes much more meaningful.
Products With One Firmness
If a product is offered in only one firmness, this does not mean other formulations are unavailable to us as a manufacturer.
It means we have chosen to offer that design in the firmness we believe best suits its intended performance.
For these products, the listed firmness is part of the design itself.
Customization!
Customizing firmness and colors is possible for experienced customers looking for something outside the standard options.
Custom requests are reviewed individually.
Not every firmness can be offered for every model, and we may decline combinations that we believe would compromise the intended flexibility, control, comfort, durability, or overall behavior of the design.
